However, I was curious as to whether city connection routes can use deep ocean? I don't have Astronomy yet, but if I do have it will I no longer require open borders between me+Theodora? Or is it some other tech which might allow this.Afterimage map order. And I'm guessing that once I build a harbor in Hastings, I should be able to get London-Hastings-York going as well. So for now I need to have open borders with Theodora. I know that if I allow open borders with Theodora then connections are made to both York and Nottingham, so presumably the York connection to London is made via Nottingham. Similarly, London-Nottingham is not there as Theodora currently owns one coastal tile which I have to traverse to make that route happen and I do not have open borders with them. I'm guessing (from a post I saw earlier) that the London-York connection is not made since I am not even friends with Milan at the moment. However, I don't have any city connections. I can make trade routes between any two of these as I wish.
